A Feast fit for Queen Elizabeth

Well Elizabeth was Queen for a day even if her castle was inflatable. This lucky little lady had her very own high tea.  Two buffet tables were set, one a bit lower for the kidlets to help themselves and a dining room table set for the adults, although at the end of the day the adults seemed to be rather relaxed around the table intended for the 'kids', one Dad looked particularly comfortable in the little hot pink chair.  It is usually the ladies who prefer the High Tea experience, however today the men where happy to sample the TWG teas and provide positive feedback (between the occasional beer).

Highlight of the day was definitely Spiderman successfully getting all the kids to dance Gangnam Style. Following the spidie games, there was a certain abuzz amongst the kids when news broke that Spiderman agreed to stay for birthday cake.  Whispers and knowing glances, confident they would finally get to see the mystery man without his mask.

Days like this make me feel so lucky to have a job where I consistently get to meet wonderful people and learn about various traditions eg did you know in many Asian cultures when a child turns one month old the parents of the child host a red egg and ginger party.  Elizabeth is a bit older, but her parents embraced the tradition and offered a stained red egg to guests as they arrived (one child asking if the eggs still came from chickens)

Oh, in case you are wondering, Spiderman took his cake to go, so we never got to meet the elusive 'Peter Parker'.
