High tea in the Country

On my early morning walk with my puppy dog we took the time to stop and marvel at all the small things that made up this beautiful Melbourne spring morning; green trees, flowers in bloom, long grass even a few lambs in the paddocks.   I made eye contact with a suspicious looking magpie, a carefully placed worm dangled from his beak as he watched my every move, I chuckled and thought 'the early bird really does get the worm'.   I ducked my head and shuffled away just in case mumma bird was near by waiting to swoop.   A peaceful clear morning made me look forward to a Petite Pippin High Tea in the Country today.

Later in the morning as we drove through Melbourne, it was great seeing people playing sport in the sun or just out for a stroll, I was a little envious of the early morning market shoppers walking proudly with their fresh local produce.

Over the Westgate Bridge and half an hour later we are at our destination.  We even had time to pop into town to have lunch at a gorgeous cafe 'Baby Black Espresso' www.babyblack.com.au/gallery

Arriving at the home to set up for the High Tea in this verdant green setting, we couldn't help but be drawn to the back window to view the rolling hills.  Such a still calm day made the scenery look like a painting.  Before long the room was set up, sweet treats and savoury delicacies placed on the platters and stands, the kettle boiled and ready to go.  Guests start to arrive ready to celebrate their friends 21st birthday.  And what is a 21st birthday without a topless barman?  Champagne, marguerites, cosmopolitans, pina coladas were all on hand near by at the bar as Simon tentatively looked after the guests.

Again, a lovely group of ladies (and one man) made another memorable day.

Tea for a Hen

Saturday afternoon I was hostess for an adorable group of young ladies celebrating a hens day.  A lazy afternoon at the Peninsula Hotsprings followed by a relaxing surprise high tea at a gorgeous home located in old Mornington.
The shabby chic themed high tea blended in well with the colourful/cheeky decorations.

Thank You High Tea

Hen's days, bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries are just some of the functions we have hosted High Teas for, but today was a little different with a thank you high tea.

The old saying 'actions speak louder than words' was definitely prevalent amongst family and friends in this lovely Surrey Hills home.  What a sweet way to thank the people in your life by treating them to a high tea and showing them how much they mean to you.

High Tea on the Seas

An absolutely magical weekend, perfect for alfresco dining overlooking the water.   We had so much fun catching the ferry to Queenscliff and hosting a high tea in a home nearly 100 years old.  The eclectic collection of furniture mixed with the traditional High Tea wares transformed the back porch basking in the afternoon sun.
