Hens Day

Another gorgeous hens day celebration.  Today we set up buffet style with tea service at a separate table for guests to choose their own TWG selections;

 

1837 Black Tea - A unique blend of black tea with notes of fruits and flowers from the Bermuda triangle which leave a lingering aftertaste of ripe berries, aniseed and caramel. 

A timeless classic.  

No 12 Tea - This velvety black tea is mixed with the finest coffee beans, reminiscent of the verdant hills of the Great Rift Valley, yields a smooth and velvety cup 

Napoleon – Known as the tea of destiny, this black tea with a blend of sweet French spices and a hint of vanilla is a tea of sensual warmth and sweetness.

English Breakfast –. This TWG broken-leaf black tea is full-bodied with light floral undertones.

Wedding breakfast high tea

By now everyone knows how much I love a wedding so I was delighted when the Bride to be asked me to organise a breakfast High Tea for her bridal party and family.

 

I arrived at the mothers home at 7am ready to go, the girls spent their morning sipping tea, eating breakfast treats and taking turns for hair & makeup, the morning was very relaxed and flowed nicely.

 

The breakfast High Tea was a first for Petite Pippin, we tailored the menu to suit the time of day and I even popped by the night before to set up just to ensure I wasn't under anyone's feet on the morning of the wedding.

 

The girls looked amazing and my only disappointment was I didn't get to see the Bride in her dress but I will be following this up.

Good Shepherd High Tea

At Petite Pippin we like to work with charities and various organisations to ensure everyone can enjoy the high the experience.  Last year we donated a High Tea voucher to a charity auction for Good Shepherd http://www.goodshepvic.org.au/about.

 

The gathering was for 10 ladies, but with a little bit of a twist.  The voucher was bought by two friends who decided to each invite 4 guests each they didn't know too well. I especially loved this concept as we all fall into our comfort zones and routines, and sometimes forget to push ourselves out into this big wide world to seek new adventures.  I was also surprised to be invited to sit down and enjoy the high tea with this amazing group of strangers.

 

Conversation flowed and laughter filled the room in the gorgeous Fitzroy home which made this Autumn day slightly warmer.

The lil French Canele

Looks may be deceiving.  I didn't try this little delicacy on my last trip to France as the little brown blob didn't look as appealing as all the other decadent treats on display, on the last day of our trip I decided to give it a go and was pleasantly surprised and regretted not trying the Canele earlier. 

With a caramelised crust and custardy centre the Canele has the perfect taste and texture, so good in fact I tracked down a Melbourne supplier and will be adding this treat to the Petite Pippin High Tea in Your Home menu.

 

 

Great Gatsby High Tea

I read an article recently where organisers of hens day celebrations are choosing to celebrate in a more traditional style and are truly embracing vintage themed events.  I was tickled pink to read this and can totally agree.

We have provided services for a number of themed occasions, however I must admit our most recent High Tea was a particular favourite with all the guests going to great lengths with their out fits, hair and make up.   The home where the hens day was held was a perfect setting, with mums flowers all the way from her garden in Gippsland adding the final touch to the room.

 

The Great Gatsby - a 1925 novel written by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald  follows a cast of characters living in the fictional town of West Egg. Narrated by Nick Carraway, the novel follows Nick and Jay Gatsby's strange friendship and Gatsby's pursuit of a married woman named Daisy Buchanan, ultimately leading to his exposure as a bootlegger and his death.
