Unveiling the Vintage Treasures: The Story of Our French Armoire

In the heart of our space, a silent storyteller stands tall — a beautiful French armoire, affectionately known in Australia as the laundry cupboard. More than a mere piece of furniture, it's a portal to another time, a repository of vintage charm waiting to be shared.

As the doors swing open, the armoire unveils a world of vintage finds, carefully curated and awaiting their moment in the spotlight. In Australia, where everyday items are given their own unique names, this armoire stands as a testament to the fusion of cultures and stories it holds.

What does it house, you may wonder? Linens of a bygone era, each thread telling a tale of nostalgia. Rustic tablecloths, delicate napkins, and unique adornments find their home here, patiently waiting to grace the tables of events yet to unfold.

Beyond its wooden frame and ornate details, the armoire plays a pivotal role in transforming gatherings. It's not just about storage; it's about unlocking the essence of times past and incorporating it into the present. Each piece carries the promise of adding character and uniqueness to your events.

Interested in bringing the magic of our vintage finds to your next event? Let's unlock the charm of these treasures together, crafting an event that is not just a gathering but a curated experience of times gone by.

As we close the doors of our French armoire, we look forward to the stories it will tell at your next vintage celebration. A story that echoes the beauty of the past, waiting to be woven into the fabric of your present. 🌿✨

Sipping Memories: Tea and Postcards

In a quaint corner of Balnarring, at Le Bouchon, a simple yet enchanting tradition left a lasting imprint on our hearts. It wasn't just the culinary delights that captivated us but the unexpected touch of nostalgia pinned to our receipt – a French postcard from the '70s featuring the majestic Alps.

The fusion of tea and postcards became an art, a tradition that I hold dear. Amidst the digital age, where messages can be shared with a click, there's a charm in the tangible, the personal.

Sending postcards has become my own ritual, not to flaunt exotic destinations, but to sit quietly with a cup of tea and share a piece of my journey with someone special. It's a deliberate pause in a fast-paced world, a moment to connect beyond the virtual realms.

Social media undoubtedly has its role, but the handwritten note on a postcard carries a sentiment that transcends pixels. In a world flooded with instant updates, the deliberate act of selecting a card, penning down thoughts, and waiting for its physical journey adds a layer of intentionality often lost in the immediacy of digital communication.

Postcards bring back the art of personal connection, the joy of finding a handwritten note in the mailbox amidst bills and advertisements. In this age of speed, the slow dance of tea steeping and words flowing onto paper creates a space for genuine reflection and sharing.

So, let's revive the art of postcards – a simple yet profound way to bridge distances and express sentiments. In a world buzzing with constant updates, that extra thought put into selecting, writing, and mailing a postcard goes a long way, echoing the sentiment that some things, like a thoughtful note over tea, are timeless.

Wedding breakfast high tea

By now everyone knows how much I love a wedding so I was delighted when the Bride to be asked me to organise a breakfast High Tea for her bridal party and family.

I arrived at the mothers home at 7am ready to go, the girls spent their morning sipping tea, eating breakfast treats and taking turns for hair & makeup, the morning was very relaxed and flowed nicely.

The breakfast High Tea was a first for Petite Pippin, we tailored the menu to suit the time of day and I even popped by the night before to set up just to ensure I wasn't under anyone's feet on the morning of the wedding.

The girls looked amazing and my only disappointment was I didn't get to see the Bride in her dress but I will be following this up.

Below are the photos of this elegant High Tea, the menu included;
  • Bircher Muesli Cups
  • Oatmeal, Fruit Choc Chip Rounds
  • Banana Bread with Mascarpone
  • Petite Scones
  • Ham, Cheese, Tomato Croissants
  • Bacon, Egg Cottage Cheese, Spring Onion Muffins

Good Shepherd High Tea

At Petite Pippin we like to work with charities and various organisations to ensure everyone can enjoy the high the experience.  Last year we donated a High Tea voucher to a charity auction for Good Shepherd http://www.goodshepvic.org.au/about.

The gathering was for 10 ladies, but with a little bit of a twist.  The voucher was bought by two friends who decided to each invite 4 guests each they didn't know too well. I especially loved this concept as we all fall into our comfort zones and routines, and sometimes forget to push ourselves out into this big wide world to seek new adventures.  I was also surprised to be invited to sit down and enjoy the high tea with this amazing group of strangers.

Conversation flowed and laughter filled the room in the gorgeous Fitzroy home which made this Autumn day slightly warmer.
